Deluxe Smoking Man Govem Signed Meerschaum Pipe - Master carver A. Govem presents a smaller yet richly detailed rendition of his old bearded man smoking a smooth meerschaum pipe. Although the pipe bowl is modestly sized, this pipe is anything but simple. The intricacy of the carving is vast and expressive, capturing the depth of character in the man’s weathered face.

The old man is portrayed with an incredibly long, thick, wavy beard and mustache. His head is kept warm by a nightcap, revealing tufts of hair peeking out from under it, and a tassel hangs down on one side. The A. Govem signature is found on the side of the smooth shank that has a decorative blue band at the end. A gorgeous translucent bent stem in a burnt orange color complements the polished white meerschaum nicely.

This meerschaum pipe is hand-carved from genuine 100% solid block meerschaum, and it is imported directly from central Turkey. After carving the pipe, it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating, which also helps to draw out smoke particles and tar. The pipe will change color over time as it is smoked. The stem is made from a special Amberoid acrylic, which provides a great finished look and long-lasting durability.
