Savun Signed Sultan Knurl Meerschaum Pipe

Savun Signed Sultan Knurl Meerschaum Pipe - Nicely detailed Sultan pipe carving by Turkish carver Savun. The mustached and bearded Sultan wears a turban decorated with carvings of flower petals and leaves. The leaf theme carving carries to the underside, shank, and knurl. There is a small smooth band at the end of the shank where Savun signed the pipe. The dark to light shades of marbled amber colors enhance the slightly bent stem. The pipe offers a nice length similar to a churchwarden.

A knurl is a piece of solid block meerschaum designed in either a carved or smooth finish. It fits on the shank of the meerschaum pipe and serves as an attractive extension. A knurl makes the shank longer thus increasing the overall length of the pipe. With this extension the smoke has further to travel with more time to cool down before reaching the end of the mouthpiece. Knurls on our meerschaum pipes have a Teflon threaded connector making it easy to remove when cleaning the pipe.

This meerschaum pipe is hand carved from genuine 100% Solid Block Meerschaum and imported directly from central Turkey. After the pipe is carved it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating and to also draw out smoke particles and tar. The pipe will color over time as it is smoked. The stem is made of a special Amberoid Acrylic for a nice finished look and long lasting durability.
