Nording Freehand Virgin Churchwarden Briar Pipe - This gorgeous freehand churchwarden pipe is handmade by Erik Nording. The pipe has a smooth, high-gloss polished finish with a touch of natural rustication on the rim. The Virgin Freehand Grain #1 pipe is made from the very best plateau briar, which is the outer part of the briar block. It is where the nicest texture and beauty of the wood grain is found. The pipe is natural in color, and one can see the flowing lines of the grain that Nording is famous for showcasing in his pipemaking.
Stamped on the underside of the shank is "Nording Made in Denmark" in a circle with the number "1" in the center. This marking authenticates the pipe. The bent Vulcanite churchwarden stem is flared and has a white scripted initial "N" embedded on the top. This one-of-a-kind pipe comes in a brown velvet drawstring pouch with the Nording signature and Denmark printed in gold. It is a beautiful piece to add to a pipe collection.
Erik Nording has been known worldwide since the early 1960's for his unique, one of a kind, hand carved freehand pipes. His pipes have a reputation of feeling good in the hand, light in the mouth and they are guaranteed to smoke great from the very first puff. Located just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, no two Nording pipes are identical making each one very personal and highly collectible.
