Nording Freehand Virgin #1 Churchwarden Briar Pipe - This natural wood grain churchwarden briar pipe is made by Erik Nording, a leading Danish pipe maker. The Virgin Freehand #1 pipe is made from the very best plateau briar, which is the outer part of the block where the nicest texture and beauty of the wood grain can be found. The flowing lines of the grain that Nording is famous for showcasing in his pipemaking are highlighted by a high-gloss polished finish. Natural rusticated areas remain on the rim of the bowl to show a contrast to the smooth polished finish.
The pipe is stamped "Nording Made in Denmark" in a circle on the underside of the shank with the number "1" stamped in the middle. The tapered, black churchwarden stem offers a graceful bend and has a white scripted initial "N" embedded in the vulcanite stem. This one-of-a-kind pipe comes in a brown velvet drawstring pouch with the Nording signature logo and Denmark printed in gold.
Erik Nording has been known worldwide since the early 1960's for his unique, hand-carved freehand pipes. His pipes have a reputation of feeling good in the hand and light in the mouth. They are guaranteed to deliver a great smoke from the very first puff. Located just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, no two Nording pipes are identical, making each one very personal and highly collectible.
