Nording Valhalla 506 Smooth Red Briar Pipe - This thick bowl pipe is a Valhalla 506 model, and it features a wide bottom with a balance point so that it sits without falling over. The polished, high-gloss finish brings out the beauty of the straight, briar wood grain. The shank is an elongated oval with two small flat sides that carry onto the bent stem. The underside of the shank is stamped "Handmade by Erik Nording 506." The bent Vulcanite stem has a scripted initial "N" embedded on the top. This one-of-a-kind pipe comes in a green velvet drawstring pouch with the Nording signature logo printed in gold.
Erik Nording has been known worldwide since the early 1960's for his unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-carved freehand pipes. His pipes have a reputation of feeling good in the hand and light in the mouth, and they are guaranteed to smoke great from the very first puff. Located just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, no two Nording pipes are identical, making each one very personal and highly collectible.
Nording pays homage to the history of his homeland in naming his pipes. Where does the Valhalla name come from? Denmark was known as the home of Viking warriors, and the translation of the name Valhalla is "the hall of the fallen," a very special place for worthy warriors. In owning a handmade Valhalla pipe by Erik Nording, you become a part of this Danish history.
