Nording Freehand Fantasy #5 Briar Pipe - The Nording Fantasy line of freehand pipes is known for its unique designs carved around the pipe bowl. This briar pipe by Erik Nording is carved in a rustic style, with smooth grain framing the rusticated motifs. The pipe is made from the very best plateau briar, which is the outer part of the block where the nicest texture and beauty of the wood grain can be found. It is polished to a high gloss, which brings out the beauty of the design and grain. The pipe bowl is deep enough to hold a good amount of pipe tobacco, and it has rustication touches on the rim. The pipe is a deep reddish color, and the shank is thick where it connects to the mouthpiece.
The pipe is stamped "Nording Made in Denmark" in a circle on the underside of the shank with the number "5" stamped in the middle. The tapered, scrolled black stem offers a graceful bend and has a white scripted initial "N" embedded in the vulcanite stem. This one-of-a-kind pipe comes in a brown velvet drawstring pouch with the Nording signature logo and Denmark printed in gold.
Erik Nording has been known worldwide since the early 1960's for his unique, hand-carved freehand pipes. His pipes have a reputation of feeling good in the hand and light in the mouth. They are guaranteed to deliver a great smoke from the very first puff. Located just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, no two Nording pipes are identical, making each one very personal and highly collectible.
