Since the meerschaum acts as a natural filter, it delivers a cool, dry smoking experience. Although it is not necessary, a regular 9-mm filter can be used if desired. The pipe has a shiny black band with a silver-colored ring in the center that connects the shank to the stem. The poker-style flat bottom allows the pipe to sit without falling over.
