Designer Lattice Bowl with Shield Knurl Meerschaum Pipe - A very unique meerschaum pipe shape has designer lattice carving on an angular, flat-bottomed pipe bowl with a smooth shield rising on the back. The knurl has a raised floral pattern framed with small, smooth bands. The translucent marbled stem is nicely bent and is a colorful blend of amber shades. A lovely, one-of-a-kind pipe to enjoy.

A knurl is a piece of solid block meerschaum designed in either a carved or smooth finish. It fits on the shank of the meerschaum pipe and serves as an attractive extension. A knurl makes the shank longer thus increasing the overall length of the pipe. With this extension the smoke has further to travel with more time to cool down before reaching the end of the mouthpiece. Knurls on our meerschaum pipes have a Teflon threaded connector making it easy to remove when cleaning the pipe.

This meerschaum pipe is hand carved from genuine 100% solid block meerschaum and imported directly from central Turkey. After the pipe is carved it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating and to also draw out smoke particles and tar. The pipe will color over time as it is smoked. The stem is made of a special Amberoid Acrylic for a nice finished look and long-lasting durability.

Since every block meerschaum pipe we sell is carved by hand, no two pipes are exactly the same. This hand-carved pipe comes in a specially made burgundy leather and velvet-lined brass hinged case. It is a custom fit and unique to this lattice shield knurl pipe.
