The chief's face, which has a hooked nose and a solemn expression, is meticulously carved. Each feather of the headpiece is intricately carved and secured in place by an elegant headband. The bent churchwarden stem, which is shaded in vivid marbled amber, is connected to the smooth shank. The pipe was double-dipped in a special wax formula to give it a creamy-colored finish. In addition to displaying superb craftsmanship, this finely carved meerschaum pipe pays homage to the Indigenous culture's lasting heritage.
