Hanseatic Freehand German Briar Pipe - This remarkable Hanseatic briar pipe is a limited edition pipe carved in a freehand style. It features a unique, circular hole designed for the thumb to fit through, thus making the pipe quite comfortable to hold. The top area surrounding the pipe bowl slopes downward to the shank, and it is left unfinished to show the beauty of the natural briar. The sides of this artistic pipe have a smooth finish, highlighting the light brown straight grain. The front of the bowl and underside are rusticated. The pipe is polished to a glossy finish and is complete with a solid black acrylic bent saddle stem. Included with your purchase is a gray velvet drawstring pouch with the Hanseatic Pipes logo and name imprinted to store and protect your pipe.

The Hanseatic League organization was founded by northern German towns and German merchant communities abroad. The purpose was to protect their mutual trading interests and dominate commercial activity in northern Europe from the 13th to the 15th century.
