Freehand Hanseatic German Churchwarden Briar Pipe - This gorgeous limited edition Hanseatic churchwarden pipe is carved in a freehand style from a block of high-quality German briar. The top of the bowl slopes down to the shank, and it is left unfinished to show the beauty of its natural look. The front sides of this artistic pipe have a smooth finish, highlighting the light brown straight grain, while the back side is carved in a rusticated style. The pipe is polished to a glossy finish. A solid black acrylic churchwarden stem with a graceful bend is tapered. Included with your purchase is a gray velvet drawstring pouch and also a box with the Hanseatic Pipes logo and name imprinted on both. These can be used to store and protect your pipe.

The Hanseatic League organization was founded by northern German towns and German merchant communities abroad. The purpose was to protect their mutual trading interests and dominate commercial activity in northern Europe from the 13th to the 15th century.
