Special Calabash Smooth Redwood Meerschaum Pipe - Gorgeous, deep red-colored wood is Okoume wood, a hardwood from Africa that is ideal to use for making calabash pipes. The calabash bowl insert is made from what is known as solid block meerschaum, and it is polished to a smooth, glossy finish. This Sherlock Holmes-style pipe includes a unique army mount, also known as a military bit. Both ends of the bit are stamped and covered in 925 sterling silver. The black acrylic tapered stem is removable for convenient cleaning. Okoume calabash pipes produce a particularly cool smoke because the smoke rests in the chamber in between inhalations, making them a popular style pipe.

This meerschaum pipe is hand-carved from genuine 100% solid block meerschaum and is imported directly from central Turkey. After carving the pipe, it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating while also drawing out smoke particles and tar. Over time, the pipe will change color as it is smoked. The stem is composed of a special Amberoid acrylic, which provides a great finished look and long-lasting durability.
