Unlike hardwood pipes, there is no need to break-in your new meerschaum pipe.

Be sure to use any lighter with a regular flame like a traditional pipe lighter or even a match.

Do not use a jet flame or torch type lighter with high heat. These types of lighters can overheat the bowl and give your tobacco a burnt taste, burn or possibly even crack your meerschaum pipe.
