Backwards Claw Holding Egg Knurl Meerschaum Pipe - Meticulously carved, this meerschaum knurl pipe features an egg-shaped pipe bowl that is delicately held with sharp tenons of a backward eagle claw. The pipe is polished in a very light sheen, giving it a matte-looking finish. The white coloring of the meerschaum flows evenly between the bowl and the long, carved knurl. This pipe has good length, and the bent stem is colored in a swirl of amber shades.
A knurl is a piece of solid block meerschaum that is designed in either a carved or smooth finish. It fits on the shank of the meerschaum pipe and serves as an attractive extension. A knurl makes the shank longer, thereby increasing the overall length of the pipe. With this extension, the smoke has further to travel, which gives more time to cool down before reaching the end of the mouthpiece. Knurls on our meerschaum pipes have a Teflon threaded connector, making it easy to remove when cleaning the pipe.
This meerschaum pipe is hand-carved from genuine 100% solid block meerschaum, and it is imported directly from central Turkey. After carving the pipe, it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating, which also helps to draw out smoke particles and tar. The pipe will change color over time as you smoke it. The stem is made out of a special Amberoid acrylic, which provides a great finished look and long-lasting durability.
Since it is hand-carved, each solid block meerschaum pipe we sell is a one-of-a-kind work of art. This hand-carved meerschaum pipe comes in a handmade brass-hinged case covered in burgundy leather with a velvet interior. The pipe case is custom-made for this specific claw meerschaum pipe.
