African Gourd Calabash Lattice Bowl Meerschaum Pipe - Authentic calabash gourds are sourced in South Africa and brought to Turkey to become African Gourd Calabash smoking pipes. The gourd has natural subtle variations of color and the traditional bend at the bottom. This shape holds the smoke and allows it to cool in the chamber. The pipe bowl insert is carved in teardrop lattice framed by petite round lattice dots. It is made of top quality 100% solid block meerschaum. A decorative wood piece attaches to the end of the gourd shank and joins the translucent scrolled bent stem that works with a classic push pull Teflon fitting. The pipe is very lightweight for its size. True African Gourd pipes are rare to find these days and Royal Meerschaum is pleased to offer this special pipe.

This meerschaum pipe bowl insert is hand carved from genuine 100% Solid Block Meerschaum and imported directly from central Turkey. After the pipe is carved it is dipped in beeswax to provide a protective coating and to also draw out smoke particles and tar. The pipe will color over time as it is smoked. The stem is made of a special Amberoid Acrylic for a nice finished look and long lasting durability.

Every meerschaum pipe we sell is hand carved so no two pipes are exactly the same. This hand carved pipe comes in a custom burgundy leather and velvet lined brass hinged case. The handmade case is a custom fit and unique to the individual pipe.
